An experienced international programme co-ordinator, project manager and fund-raiser, who is able to easily link research and planning to implementation and practice. William has managed and developed a diverse portfolio of conservation and international development work, he started his career working at the European Commission Environment DG (then DG XI). Then 20 years working as staff and then as a consultant for the World Wildlife Fund (WWF International, WWF Mediterranean Programme, WWF East Africa Programme and WWF Italy). During this time he fulfilled a wide varitey of roles including co-ordinator, special advisor and fund raiser.

Is owner and managing director of Craigston Estates, Scotland. Is currently developing an eco-tourism resort (cooking school, accommodation for 47 people and events area) through the restoration of a 17th century listed stable complex (won Historic Scotland grant for £250,000) and awaiting planning permission for 14 eco-houses.

Environment/Renewable Energy Director - Crossover Capital; Quality Assurance of proposals, public policy, identifying and sourcing new opportunities and Corporate Social Responsibility; identifing and developing business opportunities in the renewable energy sector in Scotland (developing a model 5MW wind licence), Turkey (200MW wind licence and developed a pipeline of a further 200MW), India (developing a 15 MW biomass project) and Albania (scoped a 400MW wind project); Supporting set up of a UK based carbon certification and trading company with its main branch in Turkey.
